GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides leadership and supervision of the daily operations of assigned medical practice(s). Plans, designs, implements and maintains programs, policies and management systems of the overall operations of Merrick Medical Center (MMC). Leads a multi-disciplinary care team and is responsible for the supervision and performance of team.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
  2. *Provides leadership and oversight for the development, integration, coordination and ongoing support for the delivery of health services in an integrated fashion through the management, direction and supervision of the clinic. Operations may include human resources, policies and procedures, finance and budgeting, purchasing/materials management, legal/risk management, property management and customer service.
  3. *Responsible for the development, integration, coordination and ongoing support for the quality of clinic staff through effective screening processes, innovative training programs and maintenance of customer services standards. Responsible for staff in all areas of the clinic.
  4. *Responsible for expense management of all assigned MMC locations and investigating and analyzing new revenue enhancing opportunities.
  5. *Develops, recommends and manages capital and operational budgets in support of strategic plans.
  6. Acts as the primary liaison between the assigned MMC site(s) and other departments/managers within Bryan Health to ensure an integrated operation of the facilities within the overall system.
  7. *Develops, monitors, and responds to a full range of financial, patient experience and quality indicators in all areas of responsibilities.
  8. *Demonstrates work practices consistent with Bryan Health and department-specific safety, security and infection control policies.
  9. *Partners with staff and physicians to resolve issues, decrease expenses, increase productivity and promote efficiency.
  10. Ensures appropriate management practices, maintenance of appropriate staffing levels, competency assessment, staff orientation, ongoing education and development in all areas of responsibility.
  11. *Leads Patient Quality of Care initiatives supporting quality improvement plans from various sources.
  12. Leads initiatives for community education and improvement of clinic market outreach including work with schools, organizations and care facilities.
  13. Prepares, presents and conducts required physician and/or staff meetings efficiently and effectively for identified actions and productive outcomes.
  14. *Responsible for maintenance of physical facilities, changes, moves and/or improvements as appropriate for safe, efficient and effective clinic operations.
  15. Represents Bryan Health and MMC at public and professional meetings and conferences that enhance job performance and/or networking within the community.
  16. Interviews, hires, trains and schedules employees; monitors API system for accuracy of worked hours and excessive overtime.
  17. Maintains effective supply chain practices within assigned clinic(s). Recommends opportunities for increased efficiencies.
  18. Collaborates with other MMC leaders to contribute to and lead other initiatives as assigned.
  19. Monitors compliance with the Rural Health Clinic (RHC) status for the medical clinics.
  20. Coordinates reporting to all Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) in which the RHCs participate and ensures compliance with the goals and objectives of the ACOs.
  21. Responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining and evaluating staff including professional development and 90-day action plans and department and staff goals.
  22. Responsible for employee satisfaction results in department.
  23. Liaison between RHC and CAH to support provider engagement, collaboration and communication.
  24. Performs service excellence initiatives such as: AIDET, Managing Up, 10/5 Rule, and Service Recovery when applicable.
  25. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  26. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from an accredited professional nursing program is required. Current Registered Nurse licensure from the State of Nebraska or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act required. Minimum of three (3) years experience in patient care. Previous supervisory experience preferred.


OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals), and the Military Training Network.
